Seattle opens its largest tiny home village in South Park
Cloverleaf Village brings ninety new shelter units to an industrial neighborhood as part of city housing efforts.

Seattle opened its largest tiny home village yet in the industrial neighborhood of South Park on Thursday. Cloverleaf Village features ninety individual wooden homes designed to house single adults and couples experiencing homelessness.
The project is a collaborative partnership among the Seattle Foundation, Challenger Seattle, the City of Seattle, and the Low Income Housing Institute. Challenger Seattle provided three million dollars to lease the land, while city funds support ongoing operations managed by the housing institute.
The new site provides a critical chance for people to come inside and find a new beginning.
The village was initially announced by Mayor Katie Wilson to help expand emergency shelter capacity across the municipal area. Sharon Lee, executive director of the Low Income Housing Institute, said the new site provides a critical chance for people to come inside and find a new beginning.
Two residents moved into the village on opening day, and operators expect the remaining units to fill up by the upcoming winter holidays. The village sits near a highway cloverleaf interchange and is bordered by local freight and manufacturing businesses.
Because of its isolated industrial location, public transit options are severely limited for residents who need to travel outside the immediate area for daily errands or appointments. The nearest bus stop for Route 132 is located a half-mile away along a roadway that lacks continuous sidewalks and protected crosswalks.
A second bus line, Route 60, runs further away and requires pedestrians to cross busy traffic corridors. To address these access challenges, operators plan to run a dedicated shuttle service for people living in the village.
The site also offers essential support services including case management and behavioral health care on-site. Operators said that the remaining eighty-eight units will receive occupants in stages leading up to the holidays.
